Ride through the Molentargius Park with its pink flamingos, follow the coast along Poetto Beach, and finish in the Marina district. If you want more than just a bike rental, you can also join one of our cycling tours or request a bespoke tour tailored to your needs.
Starting from Poetto Beach, this easy bike route follows cycle paths toward the city, passing the Su Siccu harbor and the waterfront of Via Roma. From here, the ride climbs gently along Viale Europa, offering expansive panoramic views. On one side, you look toward the eastern hills and mountains; on the other, the city opens toward the west, with views stretching over the historic center and the coastline leading toward Chia and Pula.
Reaching the Buon Cammino, the route continues across one of Cagliari’s most scenic viewpoints before descending back into the city. The return ride passes through the historic districts of Stampace and Marina, and along the pedestrian Corso Vittorio Emanuele, lively and full of local life. Mostly flat and on bike lanes, this loop is suitable for everyone and perfect for discovering Cagliari by bike.
Starting from Cagliari, this scenic loop heads southeast toward one of the most beautiful coastal stretches of southern Sardinia. Soon after leaving the city, the road opens onto the sea, following a panoramic coastal route with constant views over turquoise water and Mediterranean scrub. Along the way, you pass some of the area’s best-known beaches, including Mari Pintau, Geremeas, Solanas, and Porto Sa Ruxi, all visible directly from the road. In the right season, stopping for a swim in one of these bays is highly recommended and makes the ride even more enjoyable. A perfect place for a break is Cala’e Moru, where a bar at the roundabout above the cove is open all year. Reaching the Villasimius area, the route offers views toward Punta Molentis and across the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area, known for its clear water and preserved coastline. After a stop in Villasimius, the loop follows the coast back, then turns inland and returns to Cagliari, completing a ride rich in sea views and iconic beaches.
After a stop at the Tomba dei Giganti di Is Concias, an impressive Bronze Age burial site worth a photo and a short visit inside, the route reaches the Piana dei Cavalli, an open plateau often dotted with grazing horses. From here begins a memorable descent: a suggestive downhill that takes you from the mountains all the way to the sea at Geremeas. This section follows a one-way road, with a steep initial gradient, a few easy river crossings, and a final stretch on gravel that leads directly to the coast.
Once back at the sea, the route rejoins the coastal road and follows the shoreline, riding along Poetto Beach before returning smoothly to Cagliari.
