Training for the SGT Randonnée

SGT’s distance and difference in height certainly demand a good training, but the target of 193 km is within many sportsmen’s reach.

Rather than by the training, the difference is made by the capability of managing your own energies, mental ones included, in order to face the obvious difficulties (wind, heat, strain, pain, hunger…) of an entire day spent on a bike.

The road biker who is used to 120/150 km and the biker who rides 100 km off-road will not have big difficulties.

For everyone else the suggestion is to train by spending many consecutively hours on the bike.

The satisfaction of accomplishing an epic challenge, the beauty of the traversed places, the people met along the path will worth the effort!
